Picture this: Spinning wheels of light! Chakras are the same! They are the energy centers within the body. Seven chakras are there in the human body that are aligned with the spine, located from the base to the crown of your head. Each chakra is associated with certain physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. They work to regulate the flow of energy throughout the body, inducing overall well-being and harmony.

Talking from the base of the chakra, the Root Chakra (Mooladhara Chakra) as suggested by the name connects you to the earth’s roots, i.e. the earth’s energy. Moving upwards, there presents the Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana Chakra). It ignited your passion and creativity. Then comes the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura Chakra), also known as the body’s power center. It shines bright like the sun and just like the rays of the sun it fuels confidence and willpower inside you.

As we ascend, there is a Heart Chakra (Anahata Chakra), that embraces love and compassion. Next, Throat Chakra (Vishuddhi Chakra) works to give a clear voice to your truth. Then, moving forward the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna Chakra) opens your intuition, leading you towards wisdom.

Finally, at the top, there is the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra) that connects you to the infinite wisdom and divine energy of the universe. It looks like a beacon of sacred light over your head.

All sounds interesting. Yeah!

Now, you might be thinking, about how to activate all these chakras and lead a healthy and glorious life. Here in this blog, you get to explore deeply about all these and you can find answers to your questions. Let’s move further.

Mantras to Activate Chakras in the Human Body

Mantras chanting are the purest ways to activate chakras in the human body. But remember to chant the mantra correctly and carefully. Chant them in your natural pitch, not so high, not so low. Here which mantra you should recite to activate specific chakras in the body?

Chant the mantra ‘LAM’ to activate the root chakra. When the chakra gets activated, you feel a sense of belonging, security, and prosperity. Not only this, if someday, you are feeling low, then chanting the LAM mantra helps you in re-energising yourself.

Sit on the asana keeping yourself relaxed and calm. Bring out your concentration towards the root chakra, keeping your eyes closed. While doing this, chant repeatedly the mantra, “LAM”.

Sacral Chakra – Chant ‘VAM’

Chanting the ‘VAM’ mantra helps in activating the sacral chakra. As this chakra is associated with one’s pleasure and sexual & sensual desires, so activating and cleansing this chakra induces the feeling of the following.

Sacral Chakra gets activated with the chanting of the mantra by sitting calmly on the asana. Keep your eyes closed and breathe deeply. While doing so, bring your concentration towards the sacral chakra and chant “VAM”.

Solar Plexus Chakra – Chant ‘RAM’

Third Eye Chakra – Chant ‘OM’ or ‘AUM’

The third eye chakra is located in the center of your forehead. It is directly related to your intuition power, awareness, and guidance. Chanting the mantra, ‘AUM’ or ‘OM’ opens the chakra.

The proper way of chanting the mantra is by sitting in the cross-legged position. Keep the back straight and close your eyes. Take slow, deep, and relaxed breaths and concentrate on the third eye chakra. By doing so, bring out your concentration between the center of two eyebrows and chant the mantra.

Closing Thoughts

The chakras bring out different levels of consciousness. To activate these chakras, you need utmost consciousness and keep your mind away from external or physical realms. If you wish to activate these chakras, then perform a concerted effort by practicing yoga poses, chanting mantras, practicing mudras, and performing different Kundalini awakening pranayama. All these can be done easily if practiced under proper guidance. Purification is another important step of chakra awakening as it activates Sushumna Nadi and at last Kundalini power is awakened.

Maharishi Yoga Peeth in Rishikesh helps you in performing these practices under the teachings and guidance of well-versed yoga and meditation teachers.
